Tierra Canela was born when Jemima Alexander and Sophie Twiss became fascinated by the qualities of alpaca when travelling through South America.
Having found Fair Trade suppliers of alpaca, the idea grew and we started importing Fair Trade goods from parts of Asia too.
Tierra Canela means 'Cinnamon Earth' in Spanish - we named it this because it reflected the beautiful rich colours of alpaca fleeces, as well as our commitment to the earth and the people on it.
